PTSA Service Area

Due to the topographical features of the area, Peters Township is divided into two major watersheds.  The western two-thirds of the Township are located within Chartiers Creek Watershed; whereas the remaining eastern portion is in the Peters Creek Watershed.  The Chartiers Creek Watershed area of the Township, comprised of approximately 13 square miles of land area, is the responsibility of Peters Township Sanitary Authority (PTSA).

The Chartiers Creek Watershed of Peters Township is further delineated by the following service areas which are designated by the location of the sewage treatment facilities:

Brush Run Area (Brush Run Water Pollution Control Plant) serving the northern most portion of the Township, an area of approximately 8.6 square miles

Donaldsons Crossroads Area (Donaldson Crossroads Water Pollution Control Plant) serving the southwest portion of the Township, an area of approximately 4.4 square miles

Marella Manor Area is a small portion in the northern most portion of the Township. Sewage is conveyed through Upper St. Clair Township with treatment provided by the Allegheny County Sanitary Authority (ALCOSAN).

There are two sub-service areas of the PTSA service area which are currently without public sewerage: the Lehner Lakes area located in the Donaldson Crossroads area, and the Piney Fork service area, located in the Brush Run area.
